Photo – Smile For M.E
Message – For me, M.E is…
13105919_581484945342191_1378809597_oFor me, M.E is a debilitating exhaustion and pain I fight everyday that effects and has changed every aspect of my life but doesn’t define me.

๐Ÿ’™ Day 2 #1weekaboutME ๐Ÿ’™

Message – On my really bad days I…

My favourite low-level activity is watching YouTube videos.
On my really bad days when I’m not even well enough to lift my head off my pillow I need help with basic daily tasks, my parents spoon feed and hold a drinks for me but I remember tomorrow is a new day and always have hope it will be a better one. I like to look back at messages and pictures I have received through Smile For ME because hearing how I’ve helped make someone else smile always brightens my day ๐Ÿ˜Š

Since my diagnosis I have taught myself to appreciate the little things in life and focus on the good because although everyday may not be good, there is something good in everyday ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ’™ Day 4 โ€ช#โ€Ž1weekaboutMEโ€ฌ ๐Ÿ’™
Photo – Get creative with spoons
Message – I wish people without ME would…

Understand that we want to be well again more than anything so if it was that simple we wouldn’t put ourselves or our loved ones through this. We can’t just get on with things M.E is a real physical illness that effects hundreds of thousands of people and changes our lives forever without our permission. We fight everyday more than you’ll ever know to have some part of a life albeit completely different to what we had imagined.

๐Ÿ’™ Day 5 โ€ช#โ€Ž1weekaboutMEโ€ฌ ๐Ÿ’™
Photo – Something you are preparing for
Message – Even though I have ME I am determined too…

Hopefully in the not too distant future I will be well enough to get downstairs again something I have only been able to do a couple of times in nearly 2 years.

I am determined to get some part of a life back and live life to the fullest. If only determination was all I needed, unfortunately I need my body to cooperate as well but I’m determined to never stop fighting. I will get there one day and in the process hopefully make a little bit of a difference with Smile For ME ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ’™ Day 6 โ€ช#โ€Ž1weekaboutMEโ€ฌ ๐Ÿ’™
Photo – A hand written message to a fellow spoonie
Message – I advise other spoonies to…

Learn to work with your body instead of against it. Don’t push your body to its total extreme fighting against it because having M.E your body can’t work like that or recover normally from it so it makes you even more poorly. Instead learn to work with your body, working within your limits day to day.

๐Ÿ’™ Day 7 #1weekaboutME ๐Ÿ’™
Photo – You on a good day
Message – I would like people to see me as…
13120934_581484948675524_839003230_oOn a good day I can sit up in bed and do Smile For ME bits on my laptop or have a visitor for a short while ๐Ÿ˜Š

I would like people to see me as me and not M.E. I’m Alice not my illness.
