Welcome to the last of this year’s monthly updates. We hope you have enjoyed reading them and learning a bit more about how your support enables us to do what we do.
2019 has been a big year for us. We have been running for 7 years and on the 11th October our charity registration was upgraded and Smile For ME became Registered Charity Number 1185760. Thank you so much for your support in helping make this possible. It means such a lot. We are looking forward to the future of Smile For ME and to continuing to send Smiles to ME sufferers and their carers.
Smiles
244 Smiles were sent to both ME sufferers and their carers throughout 2019. These included our regular monthly Smiles, Smiles sent in Merryn’s memory on Merryn’s Smile Day and Smiles sent during Carers Week. Making 244 people smile this year would not have been possible without your support so we cannot thank you enough for your kindness.

Merryn’s Smiles
This year we created a new event called Merryn’s Smile Day where severe ME sufferers received a Smile in Merryn’s memory. Merryn Crofts sadly passed away from severe ME in 2017 just days after her 21st birthday. I was lucky enough to be her friend and thanks to her family’s blessing we created Merryn’s Smile Day. Thank you so much for all your support with it. It was lovely being able to share with her family and friends how Merryn is continuing to make others smile. Carers Week Smiles
We first celebrated National Carers Week in 2018 and this year we decided to make our celebrations an annual event. We again teamed up with Bear Hugs and sent some wonderful carers a Smile to thank them for the amazing work they do. ME does not just effect those suffering it also affects the loved ones who become carers. You can read more about our Carers Week here.
