Welcome to February’s monthly update. Hope you are all doing as well as possible.

Smiles

We sent 7 Smiles this month. Items included books, lego, stationary sets, mugs, make up brushes, embroidery sets, keyrings, socks and chocolate. You can nominate an M.E suffer or carer for a Smile on our nominate page.

Updates

We launched Smile For ME tshirts, sweatshirts and hoodies – available to buy on our Support us page. You can raise awareness of ME and support us as money raised goes towards continuing to send Smiles. Thank you to everyone who has ordered so far. We can’t wait to see pictures of you wearing them.

Smile of the month

Something that made us smile this month was seeing reactions from people receiving their smile presents. We always love hearing from you and seeing pictures of you receiving a smile present. You say it’s made you smile and receiving lovely messages always makes us smile so thank you. You can read public comments we have received as well as pictures on our Smiles page.

What’s made you smile this month?

Shop of the month

The shop of the month this month is an Etsy shop called SunshineMakesShop which is run by Hannah. Here’s more about Hannah and her shop in her own words.

I’m Hannah and was teaching in Dubai when I became ill and had to return home. After over a year of tests and dead ends I was finally diagnosed with ME in 2016. I lost all my independence and felt totally lost until I decided to use my creative skills to start a very small craft and cakes business that I can control and manage around my better days. That’s when SunshineMakesShop and SunshineMakesandBakes started and it’s been a lifeline. I also have alopecia so turned a dream into reality and wrote my first children’s book called ‘Where’s Your Hair, Hannah?’ Which was published in December 2017 and is available on Amazon. I try to find the positives in every day and make my own sunshine when all there seems to be is darkness.

All the items pictured and more are available to buy on her Etsy page which can be found at etsy.com/SunshineMakesShop. Please check it out and show your support to Hannah.

Many M.E sufferers aren’t able to work due to their health but some people run online shops from their home/bed so we would love to be able to help support M.E sufferers business in a small way by shining a light on their shop. If you have a online shop you can recommend to us, run by an M.E suffer or carer please email us at smileformecharity@gmail.com with the information and it may be used in a following month.
